In The Name of Allah The Compassionate, The Merciful
(( They desire to put out the light of Allah with their mouths, and Allah will not consent save to perfect His light, though the unbelievers are averse ))
(Holy Qur’an – 9:33- Repentance)
Since the dome of the two Askari Imams (a.s.) was destroyed on, Black Wednesday 23 Muharram 1427, 22 February 2006, we have been receiving calls from people inside and outside the United Kingdom wishing to donate funds for its reconstruction.
As such offers are loved and favoured by the Ahlul Bayt (a.s.) of purity and chastity and also specified by the Almighty in the Holy Qur’an ((That (shall be so); and whoever respects the signs of Allah, this surely is (the outcome) of the piety of hearts)) (22:32), we presented the matter to the Office of H. E. Ayatullah al-Udhma Sayyid Seestani (long may he live) in Najaf, for approval.
To conform to the wishes of the faithful we have received the go ahead so as not to deprive anyone from reaping the reward of this great act which is a manifestation of devotion to the Prophetic Message (( ..Say (O Muhammad unto mankind): I do not ask of you any reward for it but love for my near relatives..)) (42:23).
Reference was also made to the time scale to reconstruct the dome and the two mausoleums – as it may take a long time to reconstruct - due to the spiritual and historic importance that this holy shrine has in the hearts and souls of the followers of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). It is a symbol of paramount religious significance dating back to 660 years ago with 70,000 engravings of gold and enamels on the inside of the golden dome with its intricate Islamic architecture, mirrors and many priceless and precious jewels and stones. Reconstruction efforts could therefore take a long time, about five years as estimated by the Minister of Tourism. Thus Momineen must be aware of this fact when making their donations.
Donations for ‘charitable purposes’ are welcomed.
Bank account details shall be provided in due course.
