Liaison office of Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Al Sistani (L.M.H.L) in London, Europe, North and South America.

Allamah Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri inaugurates the Imam Al-Hussein (a.s.) Centre for the Afghan Community in Watford, on the outskirts of London. He says:
• The leading Marja’iyah in Najaf views the multiplicity of centres in Europe as a healthy phenomenon – that is, if their aim is to focus on Islamic unity and preserve the cultural identity.
• Emphasizes on members of communities, in institutions and centers, to keep in touch and get to know one another on the days of religious events.

He was speaking during the celebrations of the anniversary of the birth Fatimatul-Zahra (s.a.) and the inauguration of the Imam Al- Hussein (a.s.) Centre for the Afghan community, which is about 15 kilometers from the London – established after much hard work by some believers and devotees.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were a group of scholars and heads of communities, institutions and Islamic centers in London, and a congregation from the Afghan community.

He said, the importance of these institutions and centres, as viewed by the leading Marja’iyah in Najaf, is all well and good; if coupled with the preservation of Islamic unity and education of the community religiously, educationally and ideologically that are urgently needed these days, due to the spread of devious ideas invading our homes and minds through modern means of communication etc..

Therefore, if young people do not have a solid cultural background of their faith, they will be influenced and deviate from the religion. These programs must prove effective so that young people can face this mental invasion.

His Eminence emphasized on learning the language of the Holy Quran (Arabic), memorizing it and learning its Ahkam. Like the boy from the congregation, who is only six years old, who has memorized parts of the Qur’an by heart. Today, in these countries, we need a Qur’anic generation who can preserve our faith through the Quran and the teachings of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s.).

He highlighted another benefit of establishing these centers, which is that; members of the community and indeed families, continue to keep in touch with one another. This strengthens their personality and boosts their morale, because isolation and distance from one another makes peoples’ lives unpleasant and monotonous - unlike people living in countries where there are holy sites and shrines.

In conclusion, His Eminence emphasized upon the congregation to support and encourage such projects that benefit their religion and their children.
