The representative of the leading Marja’iyah in Europe welcomes the Chairman of the Majlise Ulama Shia Europe (Council of Shiite Scholars in Europe) and his delegation. He said:
- The function of the Alim and Mubaligh today is to diagnose the problem, and then prescribe the treatment.
- He stressed on holding intellectual seminars and regular meetings with scholars of other faiths to defuse differences.
- Stressed on holding meetings with officials of institutions and centres in the United Kingdom and abroad.

On Wednesday 22 March 2017 mid-day, at Imam Ali (a.s.) Foundation in London, Allamah Sayyid Murtaza Al-Kashmiri welcomed the Chairman of Majlise Ulama Shia Europe, Sayyid Ali Reza Razavi and his accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, the current situation of Muslims in Britain and Europe was discussed - which requires more effort to reduce the implications upon Muslims arising from daily media reports and various other things. This can be done through seminars and regular meetings with scholars from other faiths to reduce the difference that enemies are trying to sow between them and their followers.

Sayyid Al-Kashmiri said, the function of the Alim today should not be limited to holding prayers and religious events. Rather, the current situation should be monitored carefully. The problems should be diagnosed and the appropriate treatment prescribed. The function of the Alim today is like a doctor who treats the body. The Alim treats problems of the soul. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.w.) and the master of doctors, who was described by Amirul-Momineen (a.s.) as: A roaming doctor with complete cures; treating blind hearts, deaf ears and dumb tongues following up his treatment in heedless places and areas of confusion.

For this reason, you scholars must advise and guide everyone and make efforts to enlighten them to succeed in this world and in the afterlife - especially young people growing up and facing modern temptations through social media, misguiding and misleading news reports and ideas. This can be done through the development of useful educational programs such as teaching the Holy Qur’an and Islamic history, beliefs and language and all that may preserve their true Islamic identity - thus strengthening their intellectual and cultural personality.

Sayyid Al-Kashmiri stressed that His Eminence, the leading Marja’iyah Sayyid Al-Seestani (long may he live) also emphasizes upon the aforementioned because of their great benefits for the communities and to safeguard their relationships in these countries – as well as being the main factor in keeping families together. This enormous responsibility is placed on the shoulders of scholars and parents to make this succeed and keep it solid.

Sayyid Al-Kashmiri stressed the need to hold meetings with officials of other centres and institutions in UK and abroad – similar to the one held in France- in order to clarify their responsibilities towards the current situation.

The accompanying delegation presented the activities of the Majlise which are held throughout the United Kingdom, including recreational trips and interesting programs that encourage the young to go to school.

The delegation thanked the ongoing support and cooperation of the office of the Marja’iyah, represented by the Imam Ali (a.s.) Foundation in London. The Majlise also invited Sayyid Al-Kashmiri to attend its next meeting – which he accepted, expressing his support for them in order to serve the faithful in these countries.
