Statement from the Office of Ayatullah Seestani (long may he live) concerning the insult by a Danish newspaper to the Holy Prophet (may God bless him and his family)

In the Name of Allah The Compassionate, The Merciful

“And We have not sent you but as a mercy to the worlds”
(Holy Qur’an – 21:107 – The Prophets)

The Prophet of mercy, Mohammad, son of Abdullah (may God bless him and his family) was sent with a divine message that toppled the symbols of infidelity and polytheisms in order to elevate man’s status in line with angels and virtuous people.
A message that chanted the noble eloquence of the divine to the most honorable human civilization, conquered hearts and minds without any distinction except the sustained and integral support of the human intellect, deep in vision, elegant and graceful in boundaries and content.
The noble Prophet (may God bless him and his family) made enormous efforts to built a world blessed with justice, compassion, security and welfare whilst making sure not a drop of blood was shed unjustly to achieve this, until [his soul was] taken by The Almighty – praised and commended.
But the unjust and stray faction who has misinterpreted and manipulated the values and sacred meanings of the noble faith changed all this and devastated the earth with oppression and corruption, choosing the path of extremism that allows killing the respected self, which has been forbidden by God - unless in a just way. This has reflected a gloomy picture of the religion of love, justice and brotherhood, which has led hostile elements [to Muslims] to exploit this dangerous flaw and disseminate their malice and revive their old hatreds through new methods. The latest being the pathetic attempt by a Danish newspaper, reprinted by a Norwegian one, to insult the sanctity and the divine status of the Holy Prophet (may God bless him and his family). But, without a shadow of a doubt it is an unintelligent attempt and a decaying statement, so dim that it will fall on deaf ears – God willing.
While we profoundly condemn and reject this offensive action, we invite freedom lovers in the world and the Islamic nation with its scholars, intellectuals and academics to stand up against all forms of practices that undermine righteous values and sublime principles.
