The representative of the leading Marja’iyah in Europe congratulates the Iraqi people and the religious Maraji’ on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) and Imam Al-Sadiq (a.s.) and the recent victories. He said:
• The violation of Iraqi soil has united Iraqis from all backgrounds.
• Appealed to Islamic and western countries and others to eradicate this cancer [of terrorism] from the world.
• Without the prayers of the Marja’iyah and Ullema and the courageous Iraqi people these great victories would not be achievable.
• Everyone should be prepared to cleanse the remaining Iraqi territories, after which they need to get ready to struggle against their desires and passions.

His statement came on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w.) and his grandson Imam Jaffar Al-Sadiq (a.s.) and the victories achieved by the security forces. He said:

“If it wasn’t for these good spirits of the prophet (s.a.w.w), the expulsion of these terrorists and the cleansing of the western region of Iraqi soil would not have been achievable. I pray to the Almighty to let this be a precursor for the liberation of all Iraqi territories and other areas from the filth of the aggressors.

We can now see how these battles and the previous ones have united the Iraqi people from different faiths and backgrounds. Everyone felt this is their own fate [which is at stake] and must be defended. By the grace of God, this unity defeated the expectations of those who were dancing to sectarian tunes and whims to disunite the word of the Iraqi people. In these battles, however, there was no difference between Sunni and Shia, Kurdish and Turkmen; all were there and moving forward in name of Iraq, raising the banner of Allaho-Akbar (God is Greatest). Long live Iraq and its heroic Mujahid people. (( O ye who believe! If ye will aid (the cause of) Allah, He will aid you, and secure your feet firmly.)) Holy Quran 47:7
Allamah Sayyid Al-Kashmiri called upon Islamic countries and others to unite their word in fighting terrorism and Takfir, which is a cancer - if left untreated it will destroy everyone. He also called upon everyone to let the Book of God and the Sunna of the prophet (s.a.w.w) and the path of his pure household (a.s.) be their guide, to guarantee their success in both worlds.

((And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.)) Holy Quran 3:103.

We need to know that without divine attention and the support of the leading Marja’iyah in Najaf and his continuous Duas, morning and night, and the Duas of the Ullema and those loyal to Iraq, this brilliant victory would not have been achieved. The army and the security and mass-mobilisation forces must be ready for the next campaign to cleanse all Iraqi soil, and more importantly after this; is the jihad (struggle) with the self against its desires and passions. As the prophet (s.a.w.w.) said after a battalion of soldiers that he had sent returned: “Welcome to those who have returned from the minor Jihad, but the major Jihad still remains.” When asked what he (s.a.w.w.) meant by the major Jihad, he (s.a.w.w.) said: “Jihad with the self.”

We ask the Almighty, by the blessed occasion of the birth of the prophet (s.a.w.w) and Imam Al-Sadiq (a.s.), to grant victory to Islam and Muslims and crown their struggle with success where ever they are and to have mercy upon those who have passed away. Praise be to Allah Lord of the worlds and divine peace and blessing be upon Muhammad and his pure household.”
