Concluding his visit to Norway, the Representative of the leading Marja’iyah in Europe says:
1. The methodology of the leading Marja’iyah is based on humanitarian and Islamic practice, away from sectarianism and nationalism.
2. The leading Marja’iyah does not see a need to appear on the media, but considers its duty to achieve divine and social justice and to fight against oppression and oppressors, corruption and the corrupt.
3. We hope that Iraqi officials are serious about the reforms recently called for by the leading Marja’iyah.
4. Young people shouldn’t get overexcited by the knowledge they receive in the West, the Sadiq of Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) preceded them to it centuries ago.
5. Young people should preserve their religious and cultural identity and not be affected by western appearances.
6. A young man in the west should only marry a Momina who is known for her chastity and devoutness.

At the end of his tour to Norway, H. E. addressed a large gathering at the Ahlul-Bayt (a.s.) center in Trondheim which was attended by different communities, especially young people. The program started with a recitation from the holy Qur’an, followed by a speech from the Norwegian representative of Al-Ain Foundation, Mr. Raed al-Moussawi; who stated the goals of the Foundation and the purpose for its founding and informed the public of the appointment of its delegate in Trondheim.

A speech then followed by the scholar Shaykh Mojtaba Jafari, the Imam of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s.) center in Leeds – UK, who spoke about the Massouma Fatima, daughter of Imam Musa Al-Kadhom (a.s.) , whose birthday coincided on the same day as this gathering. He highlighted her virtues as reported by the immaculate Imams (a.s.). The city of Qom was honoured with her burial there. This made the city a center (Hawza) of learning after Najaf and has seen an increasing number of students to study Islamic sciences. Mr. Daoud al-Haidari, then talked about the importance of Islam, the doctrine that gurantees human requirements if people adhered to it and that no vacuum at all exists in Shari’a law. He mentioned some lingering suspicions in the minds of some young people and how to address them from the Qur’an and authentic narrations from the pure progeny of the prophet (s.a.w.w.) who do justice to the book [of Allah] according to the Hadith of Al-Thaqalain. Finally, H.E. Sayyid Murtaza Al- Kashmiri gave a closing speech in which he talked about Imam Sadiq’s (a.s.) season, that he has called for these days - because so much has been published from the Imam (a.s.) in different fields of knowledge that has not received due attention. Therefore students of knowledge and erudition of all spectra rushed to benefit from it, such that at one time in the Kufa Mosque there were nine hundred shaykhs who were all saying “Jaffar ibn Mohammad Al-Saqid informed me..” Also, during his grandson’s time, Imam Al-Redha (a.s.), there were four thousand students specializing in various disciplines of his school.
This phenomenon from the lives of the Imams (a.s.) is worthy of emulation by our young people today. Some people imagine the Imams’ were confined to Islamic Shari’a sciences only. However, we see them enlightening the world with their intuitive and mystical knowledge. Let young people know that the knowledge they learn today in these countries is not new to the Imams (a.s.) because they (a.s.) had explained this in words and at times by signs, to the people of their time – as we mentioned in the sixth Conference.

It is expected from young people, whilst they are gaining knowledge, that they also safeguard their religious and ideological identity and not be influenced by the outer images they see in these countries; which may lead to deviation from the right path - thus they would lose in this world and in the next one.

H. E. emphasized on young people to see their behaviour and commitment as a projection of the greatness of true Islam and tolerance with others, even if they differ in opinion with them, away from violence, contradictions and nervousness that has characterized some who belong to Islam. His Eminence emphasized the role of the leading Marja’iyah in Najaf that rejects all types of sectarianism and religious and ethnic racism; relying on the basis of compassion, because man is the brother of his fellow man, loved or hated, regardless of his religion, race or colour - as in the following verse of the holy Qur’an:
((O mankind, We have created you from male and female and made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous.. )) Holy Qur’an 49:13. The leading Marja’iyah today has therefore shown the pure face of true Islam and taught others proper democratic values, such that some western politicians have said: “We have learnt true democracy from Seestani.”

H.E. also called upon parents to commit themselves to upholding virtues and morals and teach them to their children and others and be kind and loving towards their children so as not to alienate them “Do not dislike your children because of your education, because they are created for an era different from yours.” The children will then become prey for others and withdraw from their religion and faith. He also emphasized upon the youth that when the time comes for them to marry they should only choose a Momina who is known for her chastity and devoutness to safeguard their religion and their offspring.

Responding to a question from the gathering as to why the Marja’iyah does not appear on satellite TV or the media, the Sayyid said:
“The Marja’iyah sees its duty in applying divine justice and preserving Islamic sanctities, achieving social justice, defending the core values of Islam and Shari’a and fighting against corruption and the corrupt as far as possible and seek to assist the disadvantaged and vulnerable in society. This is much better than appearing on TV and the media; in a nation where some people do not have a loaf of bread to eat or own a piece of land.”

On the question concerning the situation is Iraq and the expectations from the officials, after the Marja’iyah’s call for reforms, Sayyid Kashmiri said: “Efforts are being made by some but on condition that the remaining parties cooperate with the directives that benefit them. But some officials put their personal interests before that of the people who elected them to provide security and safety and basic services - only a little of which has been achieved till now.”

At the end of the session H. E. answered questions on Islamic jurisprudence in an open dialogue with the gathering.
