Liaison office of Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Al Sistani (L.M.H.L) in London, Europe, North and South America.

In the first Imam Al- Jawad (a.s.) gathering in Birmingham (UK), the representative of the leading Marja’iyah in Europe emphasizes that:
• It is essential to hold conferences, seminars and intellectual meetings on the life of the immaculate ones (a.s.).
• The Imams’ (a.s.) words and deeds serve as evidence for humanity because they exemplify the credo of Islam.
• Imam Al-Jawad’s life was full of benevolentness, knowledge and insight. Therefore Muslims should benefit from it.

In his talk at the first Imam Al-Jawad (a.s.) gathering in Birmingham – commemorating the birth of the Imam (a.s.) , Allamah Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri stressed the need to convene conferences and meetings in overseas countries because of the guidance and advice they offer in order to consolidate the culture and lofty concepts of Islam in the hearts of Muslims in general and the followers of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s.) in particular. He said: “Our children are in our trust and if we do not convey to them the message of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s.) via these centers and establishments we will have been negligent of this trust. On this basis we see the leading Marja’iyah continually emphasizing upon scholars, preachers, university lecturers and prayer leaders (imams) not to falter in conveying this message to the believers (Momineen); otherwise they will be held accountable in both worlds.”

He added: “When we talk about the life of an immaculate Imam (a.s.) we are not talking about a Mujtahid who can make mistakes. Neither are we talking about an icon of the world of science or invention – for such status may be achieve by those who excel in research and knowledge. We are talking about a human being, who personified the very credo of Islam; who was infallible – not prone to mistakes and forgetfulness or impure and depraved acts. We are talking about a human being who understood the holy Qur’an and its sciences (Ali is with the truth and truth is with Ali) (Ali is with the Qur’an and Qur’an is with Ali). We are speaking about a human being who embodied all the aspects of truth.

((Say, "Are there of your 'partners' any who guides to the truth?" Say, “Allah guides to the truth. So is He who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed or he who guides not unless he is guided? Then what is [wrong] with you - how do you judge?")) Holy Qur’an 10:35

We are speaking about a man who is a paradigm and a leader for humanity

((…And whatever the Messenger has given you - take; and what he has forbidden you - refrain from....)) Holy Qur’an 59:7

The meaning of the above verse of the holy Qur’an applies to the Imams (a.s.) because for us, the tradition (Sunnah) is the word and deed of the infallible one (Masoom) and his finding is proof for us. The term infallible includes the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) and the Imams (a.s.).”

He explained: “Sometimes the infallible one assumes the position of the divine Imamah after adolescences – which was the case for nine of the immaculate Imams (a.s.). But sometimes the infallible one assumes the position of the Imamah before adolescence, which is the case of Imam Al-Jawad (a.s.) and his sons Imam Al-Hadi & Al-Mahdi (a.s.). This however is not unusual because the prophet Jesus (a.s.) was bestowed with wisdom and prophethood whilst still in the cradle.
(([Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.)) Holy Qur’an 19:30
((..." And We gave him judgement [while yet] a boy)) Holy Qur’an 19:12

The Imam should be knowledgeable, just and fair. Therefore, we see that the prophet (s.a.w.w.) accepted the allegiance of Imam Hassan and Hussain (a.s.) whilst they were still boys – and did not accept allegiance from any of the other boys – because allegiance is a contract with obligations to fulfill. As for Imam Al-Jawad (a.s.), there is numerous evidence that his Imamah was from his fathers (a.s.) without reference to his age. He (a.s.) proved this by his knowledge when he replied to thirty thousand questions from scholars in Baghdad, Khorasan and Medina. As for the educational and moral aspect of the Imam’s (a.s.) life, we can find ample information about this in history books."

Allamah Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri ended the gathering session by responding to questions from the audience on history, politics and promised the Al- Jawad Center Management Committee to look into their requests.
