Liaison office of Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Al Sistani (L.M.H.L) in London, Europe, North and South America.

Sayyid Kashmiri says:
• Fatimatul-Zahra (a.s.) is the best matrimonial role model for Muslim women.
• Addressed the challenges facing the Muslim world from extremists and Takfiris.
• Praised the recent triumphs of the Iraqi armed forces, the national volunteers, the security forces and local tribes in driving out the extremist and Takfiris from areas they had occupied.
• Asked the congregation of help their fighting brothers in Iraq even by a Dua for their victory against their enemies after each Salat.

He spoke during the Friday prayers sermon in Manchester on the advent of the anniversary of her demise (a.s). He said: Al-Zahra (a.s.) was the head of the ladies of the worlds, as named by the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.w.). She was also number one in her way of life and a role model not only for Muslim women but for all free and chaste women, regardless of their religion and faith. For this reason some have designated her birthday as ‘world woman’s day’

Let us learn a lesson from her blessed marriage to her cousin Ali, the commander of the faithful (a.s.), for if it were not for him no one else would have been suitable for her. We know that no other woman, past or present, has reached such a lofty level of spirituality and attributes. Let us for now concentrate on some of her qualities. A Muslim woman’s aim in marriage must be to safeguard herself from illicit (Haraam) acts and build a good family that adheres to Shari’a.

Through this noble aim, other aims will be attainable. This is why Islam has emphasized on choosing a Momina woman as stated by the prophet (s.a.w.w.)

Sayyid Kashmiri then mentioned some details of her marriage (a.s.) starting from the beginning and her dowry allocation, which was five hundred dirhams, and the type of her furniture and marriage procession headed by the prophet (s.a.w.w) and his wives and the wives of Muhajireen and Ansar until they entered the house chosen for them by the prophet (s.a.w.w.) adjacent to the Masjid Al-Nabawy.

He went on to explain how Ali (a.s.) helped in sharing of the house chores with Fatima (a.s.) in an atmosphere of harmony, thus astonishing the angles and making this relationship a real example for the Ummah’s women. Al-Zahra (a.s.) filled the house with love and affection especially after the birth of her sons Hassan & Hussain (a.s.) and then Zainab and Umm Kolthoom (a.s.). Muslim women should refer to this part of Fatima’s life with Ali (a.s.) which was filled with harmony, cooperation and love, and learn a great lesson for their own lives to achieve happiness in both worlds.

In his second sermon, Sayyid Kashmiri concentrated on the current situation in the Muslim world and Iraq in particular. The challenges facing the country from extremists and Takfiris, and the latest triumphs in the battlefield by the Mujahedeen, the armed forces, the volunteers, the security forces and the local tribesmen against the evil Takfiris who have wrecked havoc in Iraq without differentiating between Sunni, Shia or Christian. Everyone is defending Iraq and its sanctities. He asked the congregation to lift their hand and beseech the Almighty to grant them victory.
