The Representative of the leading Marja’iyah in Europe:
• Congratulates the Muslim world on the auspicious occasion of the Eid Al-Wilaya and devotion.
• Considers this day as the day of allegiance to the true representative leadership during the era of occultation.
• Imam Al-Hadi’s (a.s.) Ziyarate on the day of Ghadir is full of his grandfather’s [Amirul Momineen] ways (peace be upon them both) as mentioned in the Qur’an and by the Prophet (s.a.w.w.)
• Muslims should seize this blessed opportunity to unite their word and purify their hearts.

Imam Ali (a.s.) Foundation convened is usual annual and joyous celebration on the occasion of Eid Al-Ghadir Al-Mubarak . It was attended by a large gathering of scholars and intellectuals.

Dr Ibrahim Al-Atti, Dean of Advanced Studies at the Islamic University in London, read a poem inspired by the occasion, which won the admiration of the audience. Sayyed Murtadha Al-Kashmiri, Secretary General of the Foundation, then congratulated Muslims of this blessed day and said: “it's the happiest day of the year and the most virtuous, the most comprehensive in blessing as said by the eighth Imam, Imam Reza (a.s):

وإن يوم الغدير بين الأضحى والفطر والجمعة كالقمر بين الكواكب
(Among [the Eids] of Friday, Al-Fitr and Al-Adha, Al-Ghadir is like the moon among planets), because it is the day when, after the departure of the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) the leadership of the Islamic nation was declared and because it [the Imamah] is a continuation of prophethood.

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.w.) ordered this in his farewell Haj so that he does not depart from this world without designating and entrusting Ali (a.s.) to protect the Message.

O Messenger! deliver what has been revealed to you from your Lord; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people; surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people. (Holy Qur’an 5:67)
((يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ))

This was due to Imam Ali’s qualities found in no other person, because he was nurtured on Message with knowledge of the secrets and intricacies of the world from an early age and from the first revelation unto the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) in the cave of Harra. He (a.s.) therefore said:

• والله ما نزلت آية في ليل أو نهار ولا سهل ولا جبل ولابر ولابحر إلا وقد عرفت أي ساعة نزلت وفيمن نزلت
• ايها الناس سلوني قبل ان تفقدوني سلوني عن طريق السماوات فاني اعرف بها من طرق الارض
• إن ها هنا لعلماً جماً
• علمني رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) ألف باب من ‏العلم فانفتح من كل واحدمنها ألف باب

Alongside his sayings, his prophetic characteristics overflow in the Muslim books of Sihah and their references. The Qur’an bears witness on his political authority on all creation.

((إِنَّمَا وَلِيُّكُمُ اللّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ الَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ الصَّلاَةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُمْ رَاكِعُونَ))
Your (real) friends are (no less than) Allah, His Messenger, and the (fellowship of) believers,- those who establish regular prayers and regular charity, and they bow down humbly (in worship). (Holy Qur’an 5:55)

Muslim history is explicit about his heroism and support for Islam and Muslims, since the Battle of Badr, the Khandaq and Khyber and other situations that cannot be mentioned in this summary.

However, to learn more about the great and lofty status of Imam Ali (a.s) has with Allah (s.w.t.) and the holy prophet (s.a.w.w.), read the authentic Ziyara of Imam Ali Al-Hadi (a.s.) recited for his grandfather Amirul-Momineen (a.s.) on the day of Ghadir. This Ziyara is rich with evidence about his position, his struggle and his defense of Islam which saves referring to tens of Muslim historical references.

Therefore, the day of Ghadir is the day when the divine Islamic leadership was declared – chosen by Allah (s.w.t) to lead humanity until judgment day.

If we want to gage the progress of the nation we do its through its leaders. If it has been living under the leadership of the prophets and righteous people and those who emulate them, then its destiny will be happiness and salvation in this world and the next. But if it its course is that of despots, pharaohs and oppressors then it’s destined to misery, waste and annihilation.

So we must seize the opportunity on this day to unite our word and close our ranks behind this true leadership and its deputies and learn from its path an eloquent lesson on Islamic unity:

لأسالمنّ ما سلمت أمور المسلمين مالم اعلم فيها ظلم إلاّ عليّ خاصة.

And to follow the path of this leadership as emphasized by the Messenger of Allah to Ammar ibn Yasser:
يا عمار إذا رأيت عليا قد سلك واديا وسلك الناس واديا غيره فاسلك مع علي ، ودع الناس فإنه لن يدلك على ردى ، ولن يخرجك من هدى

He also stressed the commitment to this line in his famous saying:
أوصيكم بكتاب الله وعترتي
because in it there is real guarantee for the people. However, when the nation turned away from committing to the provisions of the Qur’an and it turned its back against this leadership, its wealth became looted and its dignity violated - as told by the Prophet (s.a.w.w):
يوشك ان تتداعى عليكم الامم كتداعي الاكلة على قصعتها, فقيل يارسول الله اومن قلة فينا قال لا بل انتم يومئذ كثير ولكن من حبكم الدنيا وكراهيتكم الآخرة

Finally, we ask Allah Almighty to make us among those following the path of Amirul-Momineen (a.s.) and adhere to his Wilaya and the Wilaya of his sons (a.s.) for He [Allah] Listens and Responds.

عيد الغدير اعظم الأعياد        كم فيه لله من الأيادي
اكمل فيه دينه المبينا        ثم ارتضى الاسلام فيه دينا
