English translation of the Statement from Imam Ali Foundation - London, concerning the dissemination various statements.

Over the past two days the Arab and Western media have been disseminating various statements purporting to be from His Eminence Grand Ayatullah Seestani, such as: “Seestani threatens to call for national disobedience & confrontation of colonial schemes” and similar such totally untrue claims.

These claims and similar ones only convey the individuals’ opinion.

The opinion of H. E. the Grand Marja’ is communicated through his office in Najaf - bearing the official seal. We therefore emphasis upon the previous statement issued by the office of His Eminence on the 17th of October 2003 (20 Sha’ban 1424) as per the following original Arabic text & English translation:



Nothing portrays the opinions of His Eminence unless it has been signed and sealed with his seal, or written and sealed with the seal of H. E’s office. All else is just the individuals’ opinions.

As for His Eminence’s statement made in the presence of a group of visitors that: “No power to those who have come from outside”, H. E. was not referring to Iraqis in this case.
