The representative of the leading Marja’iyah in London welcomes a gathering of scholars and Imams of centers in the United Kingdom on the occasion of the anniversary of the Mab’ath of the holy prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his household).
• Bi’tha [official appointment] of the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) is the great guide to humanity. If its true dimensions were to be developed then much of today’s world problems would be solved.
• If Muslims would commit to the book of Allah and the prophet’s (s.a.w.w.’s) household then no lives would be lost and no money would be wasted.
• Westerners have a negative image of Islam due to acts of terrorists and extremist groups.
• Westerners draw on facts about Islam from the misleading media and not from its true sources.

On the occasion of the Mab’ath of the holy prophet (s.a.w.w), Allamah Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri welcomed a group of scholars, Imams of centers and other Momineen at the headquarters of Imam Ali (a.s. ) Foundation in London. He said:

This day is a great and noble day in the year, also considered one of its Eid festivities because of its important dimensions that left a mark on the forehead of time in the Arabian Peninsula which, at that time, was hovering on a sea of blood, injustice and corruption.

“..and you were on the edge of a hole of fire;(you were) the drink of the thirsty one; the opportunity of the desiring one; the fire brand of him who passes in haste; the step for feet; you used to drink from the water gathered on roads; eat jerked meat. You were despised outcasts always in fear of abduction from those around you - Allah Almighty and Exalted saved you by sending Mohammad (s.a.w.w.).”

It befits the whole of humanity to celebrate this joyous day because of the scale of goodness it brings to the whole world. The prophet (s.a.w.w.) was not a prophet to the Arabs only, but also a prophet to whole world ((We sent thee not, but as a Mercy for all creatures.)) Holy Qur’an, the Prophets: 107

The prophet (s.a.w.w.), came as a guide with glad tidings and caution: “The Prophet was like a roaming physician who has set ready his ointments and heated his instruments. He uses them wherever the need arises for curing blind hearts, deaf ears, and dumb tongues. He followed with his medicines the spots of negligence and places of perplexity.”

Where do we stand then from this great blessing that beamed its lights upon the world on such an auspicious day [not forgetting] we live in its rich fragrance until the hour of reckoning.

The question that arises is the following : Has mankind benefited from the prophet (s.a.w.w) who was sent to guide and bring humanity out of darkness into the light ((It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered a messenger from among themselves,..)) Holy Quran, Jum’a: 2.

Did the Ummah adhere to the book of Allah and the household of His messenger (s.a.w.w.) as He ordered them to? Since both lead to the path of enlightenment and success in this world and the next one. Or did the Ummah stray from the path that was drawn up for them and therefore got lost in the alleyways of delusion and blindness and began messing around western and eastern doors asking for help - despite all the natural resources Allah blessed them with; the black and white gold, control of the world’s most important waterways and arsenals of various sophisticated weaponry? But unfortunately the real decision is not in the hands of the Ummah. So they live in a state of discord and rivalry and fritter away money to instigate wars between Muslims and support terrorists and extremists to kill each other; which is what the holy prophet (s.a.w.w.) predicted will happen to the Ummah if it strayed.

“Soon, nations will invite one another against you just like a group of people seated around a platter of food invite one another to consume that food."

Rest assured the Muslim world will not succeed in this life nor in the next one unless it adheres to these two trustworthy links (I advise you to adhere to the book of Allah and the it’ra of my household).

In addressing the gathering, Allamah Al-Kahsmiri said let us seek refuge in Allah on this blessed day and pray that He unites Muslims, bring their hearts closer to each other so they refrain from anger, envy and killing one another and to portray the pure image of our glorious Islam and our true faith – for today, our enemies want to distort this truth through spreading sectarianism and stirring up discord between Muslims and sowing the seeds of conflict and deceit between them. The terrorism perpetrated by terrorists and extremists is only a part of this unjust campaign to distort, misrepresent and repudiate the true teachings of Islam.

Regrettably, the western world does not research and verify facts and does not refer to authentic sources of reference. It only sees what the media disseminates about scenes of some Muslims fighting, killing, destruction and blood-shed between themselves; aiming to distort the true picture of this noble faith which drafted the laws of peace, compassion and divine kindness. The prophet’s (s.a.w.w.’s) slogan is (compassion and mercy with the believers) and the slogan of Islam is ((..if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah...)) Holy Qur’an, Anfal:61

The world should know the most important reason behind the prophets’ missions; especially the noble prophet (s.a.w.w.) is to guide humanity to take advantage of the mind and the intellect. If these faculties were used in their proper framework most of the problems in the Muslim world would be solved.

((If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth...)) Holy Qur’an, Al-A’raaf:61.
