English Translation of the response by the Office of His Eminence Ayatullah Seestani in Najaf to question By Fox News:



1- What is your Eminence’s opinion about the events in Karbala and the arrest of a number of people who had taken part in them?
2- What is your Eminence’s opinion regarding the religious militias, do you approve of their formation?
3- What is the role of religion in the future Iraqi constitution and what is its role in the educational and legislative systems?


Response:

1- The armed clashes that occurred in the holy city of Karbala emanated from the absence of an active Iraqi national authority and the widespread availability of unauthorized weapons in the hands of undisciplined groups. With efforts by the representative of the Office of His Eminence, an agreement was reached to solve the dispute. Only proper Iraqi law courts can try those who stand negligent - whoever they may be.
2- Iraqi national forces that are responsible for providing security and stability must be strengthened and supported with the satisfactory manpower and necessary equipment. We are not with the formation of any militias.
3- Members of the constitution council who are elected by the Iraqi people will decide all this.
