About His Eminence Ayatullah Al-Udhma as-Sayyid as-Seestani (Dama Dhiluh), during the current situation in Iraq

Reference to our contact with Hujjatul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sayyid Mohammad Redha Al-Seestani, by the grace of Allah, His Eminence Grand Ayatullah Seestani (long may he live) is in good health.
In protest to the violation of sanctity of the Mausoleum of Amirul-Momineen, the Commander of the Faithful (pbuh) in Najaf, the breakdown of law and order and the anarchy still witnessed in Najaf, His Eminence will continue to remain out of sight until the situation becomes normal again.
In the meantime His Eminence's advice is to save lives and property, uphold law and order, join ranks, and reject sectarian and ethnic discords and conspiracies. He also expressed his utter disappointment with the looting and ransacking of many public properties and defenceless civilians.
The active participation of the general population including honourable tribesmen who devoted their noble efforts to extinguish, the fire of conspiracy, clearly demonstrated their credibility and reflected the depth and strength of their relationship with their Marja’iyyah. Whilst once again we place the responsibility of the present state of anarchy gripping most of Iraq and Najaf in particular upon the coalition forces, we emphasize the sanctity of the Holy Shrines and the lives of eminent religious scholars and urge everyone to do their utmost to deter this great danger.
We ask the Almighty to rid the population from distress and endear the religion and all noble and righteous values.
