Marja’iya’s Representative Receives Keys for Academy in Berlin-Germany

On Saturday 23 March 2013, Samahat Al-Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri received the keys for the Hawra School in Berlin. It was the culmination of three years of assiduous efforts to find a suitable place in Berlin for an academy to educate children starting from nursery right up to university, to be the first of its kind in Germany - perhaps in Europe. German authorities supported these efforts by giving the green light to the Torath Centre to implement this project according to statuary requirements.

For the first time on Saturday, members from the Federal Ministries of Interior, Education and Environment visited the place in order to determine its suitability. After looking around its intended classrooms, offices, halls, laboratories, storerooms and annexes, all were quite impressed.

In a short speech, Sayyid Kashmiri thanked them for their collaboration with the Torath Centre adding that: “this is a scientific and educational project totally isolated from politics and political parties. The aim is to provide our children here with sound education according to the national curriculum, plus religious education, so they may retain their cultural identity whilst being encouraged to adhere to social integration, peaceful co-existence and respect for law and order. This will ensure their safety and security in the country and they will live with other faiths and religions in a spirit of love and tolerance.” The authorities present expressed their gratitude for such aims and objectives from the Torath Centre and promised to do their utmost to assist in this project.

Samahat Al-Sayyid thanked those present, in particular the head of the Torath Centre. He requested them to appoint a committee with the participation of competent young people, to study ways to stimulate the activities of this educational centre so it may serve this generation’s needs for the next twenty to thirty years, adding: “If it weren’t for the Duas of Momineen and support from some banks in lending the required funds, this dream would not have materialised.” The committee will supervise the required structural changes to the building preparing it for the 2014/2015 academic year insha-Allah.

Finally Duas were said for the followers of Ale-Muhammad to achieve their desire in educating their children in this and other distinguished centres. For Allah is the grantor of success.
