English translation of the Statement from Imam Ali Foundation - London, concerning the crime against the holy prophet (s.a.w.w).

بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِىءَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ ( الرعد:32)
Mocked were (many) messengers before thee: but I granted respite to the unbelievers, and finally I punished them: Then how (terrible) was my requital! (The Thunder: 32)

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds and peace and blessings be upon Mohammad & his immaculate household.

Imam Ali (a.s.) Foundation in London adds its voice to that of our Grand religious Maraji’ in Najaf Al-Ashraf, Qum and the Muslim world in condemning the production of the film insulting the status of prophet hood and containing fabrications and lies far from the truth thus abusing and incriminating the dignity of the seal of the prophets (peace be upon him and his household). This is not the first time such an insult has been launched against our Great Mohammad (peace be upon him and his household) but it surpasses previous ones in its abhorrence.

Such insults are nothing but attempts to create discord among Muslims and other people and to engage and distract them from attending to their crucial matters. While we condemn this obnoxious action, we demand the countries that harbour such individuals, under the pretext of freedom of expression, to take a decisive stand against such abuses by making it a criminal offence to abuse religious symbols, especially holy prophets, to prevent injuring Muslim feelings which in turn causes embarrassment to their countries vis-à-vis the whole the Islamic world.

These insults are not only against the status of our prophet (peace be upon him) they are also against the status of all prophets (peace be upon them all), for they were all sent with one aim and objective which is to improve and release society from ignorance and obscurity and to spread love, peace and virtues among humanity.

Imam Ali (a.s.) Foundation condemns this deliberate attack on the status of our Prophet Al-Mustafa (peace be upon him) in the strongest possible manner. We also demand Muslims to commit to self-restraint so this insult does not reflect as an insult upon peoples of other faiths, because the aim of such elements and terrorists is to drag nations into the abyss of discord by targeting faiths – as so happened in Iraq.

Muslims must therefore deny this opportunity to these elements of intent and live with Christians and other faiths in such a way as to safeguard their unity in society - as in holy Qur’an:
إِنَّ هَ?ذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ ) الانبياء: 92)
Verily, this community of yours is a single community, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore serve Me (and no other) (The Prophets: 92).

The holy Qur’an and our great prophet (peace be upon him) emphasize respect for other religions and prophets.

We ask Allah almighty to grant Islam victory, protect its sanctities and its guardians.

يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى اللَّهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يُتِمَّ نُورَهُ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ)الصف: 8)
Their intention is extinguish Allah's light with their mouths, but Allah will complete (the revelation) of His light, even though the Unbelievers may detest (it). (The Battle Array: 8)
