Statement lssued by His Eminence's Office (dh) Regarding the Humanitarian Tragedy in Gaza

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.

After nearly two years of continuous killing and destruction, which hasresulted in hundreds of thousands of martyrs and wounded, and thedemolition of entire cities and residential complexes, the oppressedPalestinian people in the Gaza Strip are currently suffering fromextremely dire living conditions, especially due to the scarcity of foodsupplies that has caused a widespread famine, sparing not evenchildren, the sick, or the elderly.
While it is not unexpected for the occupying forces to commit suchhorrific brutality as part of their ongoing attempts to displacePalestinians from their homeland, it is expected of the countries of theworld—especially the Arab and Islamic countries—not to allow this greathumanitarian tragedy to continue.
Rather, they must intensify theirefforts to put an end to it and do everything in their power to compel theoccupying entity and its protectors to allow the delivery of food and othernecessities to innocent civilians as soon as possible.
The horrifying scenes of the rampant famine in the Strip, as reported bythe media, do not allow any person of conscience to enjoy food or drinkin peace.Indeed—as the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace beupon him), said regarding the assault on a woman in the lands of Islam —“If a Muslim were to die of grief after this, he would not be blamed;rather, in my view, he would be deserving of it.”There is no power nor strength except with God, the Most High, theMost Great.
