English translation of the message of condolence from the Grand Ayatollah Sistani following demise of Ayatullah Al-Sayyid Muhammad Saeed Al-Hakim (may Allah be pleased with him)

In the Name of Allah the Compassionate Most Merciful
To Allah W belong and to Him is our return (Holy Qur'an 2:156)

It is with great sadness and regret that I received news of the demise of the divine scholar, the jurist of Ahlul-Bayt (a.s), Ayatullah Al-Sayyid Muhammad Saeed Al-Tabatabai Al-Hakim (may Allah be pleased with him).

The Hawza Al-llmiya in Najaf Al-Ashraf has lost one of its eminent scholars and jurists who dedicated his honourable self to supporting the religion and faith, devoting his blessed life to the service of knowledge and its people - leaving behind a glorious heritage of erudition of a lofty stature.

And as I offer my condolences on this great affliction to our Imam Al-Zaman (may our souls be sacrificed for him), the Hawzas and the deceased's family - especially his honourable brothers and sons - and the believers in general, I ask Allah Almighty and All Powerful, to elevate his rank in Illyin and unite him with His Awliya, Muhammad and his immaculate household, and to grant his family and devotees patience and solace.
There is no strength or power but with Allah Almighty.
