In The Name of Allah The Beneficent The Merciful
All gratitude is to Allah The Lord of the worlds and all praise and salutations upon Prophet Muhammad and His Immaculate Household.
Allah Almighty states in His Holy Book:
إن هذا القرآن يهدي للتي هي أقوم “Verily this Qur’an guides to that which is most upright.”
The entire world is currently living through a pandemic that has paralyzed normal daily life and destabilized it at all levels, whether socially, economically, touristically, healthwise and so forth. Man stands astonished and confused as a result in two matters:
1. The first is analytically in understanding the type of event and the reality of what is happening. Is it from God, predestination, divinely written to happen? If so, then it falls under:
قل لن يصيبنا إال ما كتب هللا لنا
"Say that we will not be inflicted except with that which is ordained for us by Allah"
Or, is it a result of the doings of mankind, wherein it becomes a choice that mankind took to cause this disease and as such one should find the culprit and hold them responsible. In such a case, it would fall under:
وال تفسدوا في األرض بعد إصالحها "And do not corrupt within the earth after it was in good shape"
2. The other cause of confusion is what should mankind do, how should he act from a practical standpoint.
The first is an intellectual dilemma while the other is a practical one. It is as though we are dealing with one of those modern electronic devices that has functions for each of its buttons and we were suddenly taken by surprise by a glitch that has detrimental consequences leading to an explosion or a disastrous event in which one does not know which button to press to bring it to a stop.
