Liaison office of Grand Ayatullah Sayyid Ali Al Sistani (L.M.H.L) in London, Europe, North and South America.
The conference began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the speech of the Preparatory Committee by Shaykh Nathim Htait, followed by the speech of the representative of the leading Marja’iya, Samahat Al-Sayyid Murtadha Al-Kashmiri, followed by the input of Shaykh Taj Al-Din Farfour, member of the Islamic Academy in Sweden, and then the speech of Sayyid Muhammad Al-Khadimi Imam of the Mosque of Imam Ali (a.s.) in Copenhagen, followed by the representative of the Islamic Supreme Council in Lebanon, after which the speakers present made their input.
The main points of the representative of the Marja’iya’s speech were as follows:
1- That the Mubaligh and preacher set a good example in society by educating himself on virtues and excellence to be a living example and embodiment of the concept of role models - with reference to the narrations of the Prophet (s.a.w.w.) and the Immaculate Imams (a.s.).
2- He considered the mission of preachers and Mubaligheen as a significant and dangerous one, as they continue to convey the messages of the prophets and reformers who were sent in order to call for reform, fight corruption and identify the ailments that exist in society, and thus treat them according to divine methods. By this he will therefore be the perfect proof of what the Prophet (s.a.w.w) said to Ali, the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) “Because Allah enlightens one man through you is better for you than the raising and setting of the sun upon him.”
As for it being dangerous, it is when the Mubaligh does not perform his duty and deviates from the divine approach. Because by his deviation many people will deviate, and any slipup and deviation by the scholar causes world slipup.
Samahat Al-Sayyid also emphasized that preachers avoid speaking myths and baseless reports because they divert the speaker from his message and goal of educating the Ummah - citing various historical issues.
3- He pointed to the importance of caring about young people, focusing on their religious, ideological, moral and behavioural identity in society, where in this era social media is spreading and carrying with it ideas and visions that deviate young people from the Islamic way.
4- He pointed to the importance of rectifying religious rituals, which distort the message of Imam Hussein (a.s) and his blessed resurgence, which came to reform the human being and guide society - citing some sensitive examples of the behaviour of some who think they are doing the right thing.
He also referred to other sensitive issues pertinent to the Islamic arena in general, calling upon the Almighty, Blessed and Exalted be He, to help those present to realise their mission in the best and most knowledgeable manner.
The conference was crowned by the presence and active participation of a group of our brothers’ scholars from other Islamic faiths.
We ask Allah to accept this from us and from those present with His grace and generosity. He is All Hearing and Answers Prayers.
